Pumpkin Beer Bread


  • 1 @ 15oz can of pure pumpkin
  • 4 oz ounces of cream cheese
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tb plus 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Tb sugar
  • 1 @12 oz can or bottle Budweiser Beer
  • 3 Tb butter, salted, melted
  • salted sunflower seeds (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350 and use unsalted butter to grease your loaf pan.

In a large bowl mix together the pumpkin, cream cheese, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and pumpkin spice. Sift together the flour, whole wheat flour, and baking powder then stir in the salt. Add this flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture. Add the brown sugar and sugar and mix well. Pour in the beer and thoroughly stir all the ingredients. Put the bread mixture into the loaf pan and pour the melted butter over the top. Sprinkle with the salted sunflower seeds. Bake for 60 minutes, rotate the pan and bake another 30 minutes. The bread is done when a toothpick inserted deep in the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
